"Bechstein is part of our basic culture." Those who love music know Bechstein. Bechstein is an epitome of quality, a great brand that has lived up to its own high standards for almost 150 years. Bechstein has always been at the forefront of technological progress, a leader in timbre quality and exemplary processing.
Carl Bechstein established his company in 1853 in Berlin. By 1900, production had increased to 3,700 instruments a year, and this was the year that Carl died. He left his sons Edwin, Karl & Johann to continue the business, which continued to prosper, and in 1912 the company produced its 100,000th instrument. Bechstein survived the `great depression' in 1929-1934, when many piano builders were forced out of business. In 1993, however, the company was facing banckruptcy, and nearly collapsed, until German investment saved the company. Bechstein today still prospers, and has bought Zimmermann & W Hoffmann into the Bechstein fold.

Bechstein, M-180
The classical Bechstein grand for the smaller chambers, for intimate making of music, unchanged and beloved since almost a century. Clearly, ease of touch, very rich sonority of tone - a confirmation to Bechstein's character of sound. The ideal grand piano for chamber music or as accompanist for the human voice.
Width 150cm, Depth 180cm

Bechstein, A189
This model is the bridge between the smaller and the concert grands. A piano for practicing or musical dreaming – excellent in touch and clear in tone, a typical Bechstein grand for mid-sized rooms, for the home or conservatory, a piano with almost unlimited possibilities. The A 189 was judged “a small giant”by DIAPASON – Paris 1995, as “filled with frensh blood in its veins” leaving the strict structures of the past retaining the essential characteritsitc of its predecessors: imperishable.
Width 153cm, Depth 189cm

Bechstein, Classic 124
High-class with great modesty, timeless in form. The Bechstein acoustic body nr. 11, with exceptional engineering of sound and touch makes this piano a wonderful musical instrument. The French journal Diapason prized it in 1986 with a golden trophy. "A traditonal Bechstein, convincing through beauty of sound and clear touch, balanced throughout the registers with stable tuning and a deep, sonorous bass. Noble among pianos."

Bechstein, Concert 8
Bechstein model and acoustic body nr. 8 was awarded the first prize by "Le Monde de la musique": This piano has proven to be first class. Its tonal projection allows for a great spectrum of harmonics with truly voluminous length of tone. Its practically endless tonal color is unique among upright pianos. The Bechstein acoustic body nr. 8 is the closet to the absolute ideal of piano sonority, it thereby presents an invitation for the interpreter's most contrasting styles of music. The tonal balance comes so close to that of a grand piano, which poses the question for some, whether a Grand piano is really necessary. For many, the Bechstein Concert 8 is the worlds best vertical piano.

Bechstein, Elegance 124
Elegantly shaped gentle edges and elaborate details of form; a harmonious cabinet design, a robust, yet sensitive sound body and clearly defined touch. "....balanced throughout the registers with stable turning and a deep, sonorous bass. Noble among pianos." (Diapson) The Bechstein acoustic body nr, 11 (hier schwarz poliert)
